The Master’s Programme in Adult Education aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical, pedagogical, and practical foundation that addresses the contemporary requirements of adult education and lifelong learning at both local and international levels. The programme focuses on the development of specialized knowledge and skills that enable education professionals to effectively design, implement, and evaluate educational activities for adult learners.

Taking into consideration the increasing complexity of the role of the adult educator, as well as the diverse learning environments in which adults participate – formal, non-formal, and informal education – the programme approaches learning through contemporary theories, pedagogical practices, and innovative methodologies. Students deepen their knowledge and skills in the design and evaluation of educational programmes, adult teaching, the use of digital technologies, and the development of learning experiences that respond to the needs of diverse groups of learners.

At the same time, the programme promotes the development of professional, leadership, and research skills, fostering an educational philosophy that recognizes learning as a factor of personal development, social participation, and professional advancement. Upon completion of their studies, graduates acquire the necessary qualifications to pursue careers in educational and training organizations, lifelong learning structures, human resource development institutions, and educational research, while also gaining a strong academic foundation for continuing their studies at doctoral level.

Upon completion of the Master’s Programme in Adult Education, graduates will be able to:

  • Apply contemporary theories and practices of adult education in diverse learning environments.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate adult education and training programmes.
  • Utilize innovative teaching approaches and digital technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Analyze the needs of adult learners and appropriately adapt their educational interventions.
  • Conduct research and utilize research findings to improve educational practice.
  • Develop critical thinking and leadership skills for the effective management of issues related to education and lifelong learning.
  • Design learning experiences that respond to the characteristics and needs of diverse groups of adult learners.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programmes and propose improvement interventions based on evidence-based data.

The Master’s Programme in Adult Education is addressed to teachers at all levels of education, adult educators, education and training professionals, as well as professionals working in the fields of human resource development, lifelong learning, and vocational training.
