The Postgraduate Program in Maritime Law & Maritime Administration is funded by the public sector, provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills and equips them with the appropriate resources to be able to develop and become senior executives of shipping companies or public interest organizations.

The purpose of the program is to meet the urgent market need for modern professionals, legal or managerial executives, offering a thorough understanding of the integration of law and the maritime business.
The postgraduate program is a unique partnership between the Department of Shipping and Commerce and the Department of Law of Frederick University. It is the only one of its kind in Cyprus and one of the few worldwide that combines specialized knowledge of Maritime Law and Maritime Management. The aim is to equip students with the necessary skills to successfully manage legal and business challenges, negotiate and operate effectively in different international jurisdictions.
The program covers a wide and highly relevant range of core courses, such as the law of carriage of goods, marine insurance, ship management and maritime economics. At the same time, it offers students the opportunity to specialize in one of three elective directions: Commercial Management, Marine Sustainability Management (Green Shipping) and Financial Management. Through this holistic training, the program aims to develop competitive executives ready to respond to top positions in the public sector, shipping companies, the banking industry, as well as in the legal or research sector.

The program is aimed at graduates, lawyers and executives seeking specialization in the shipping sector and international professional development. Candidates come from Business Administration, Law or Social Sciences, while applications from other scientific disciplines are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Admission Criteria
For admission to the postgraduate study program, candidates are required to hold a Higher Education degree from a higher education institution in Greece (A.E.I., T.E.I.) or abroad (recognized by DOATAP).

All of the above supporting documents are collected and sent to the email address info@frederick.ac.cy
Subsequently, the Program Committee evaluates the candidate’s file and officially informs them of the outcome of the procedure, sending a relevant decision approving or rejecting the registration application.
If the application is approved, the candidate is informed of the next steps in the process and receives all the necessary information to begin their studies.
