The Master’s Degree Program “Educational Studies: Curriculum & Instruction” aims to prepare teachers and researchers who can effectively respond to the contemporary challenges of education and the ever-changing social and learning needs. The program offers a comprehensive theoretical, research and practical background in Curriculum Studies, focusing on the processes of planning, implementing and evaluating teaching in modern learning environments.

Through the study of the most recent research findings, students delve into the concepts of learning, teaching, evaluation and educational policy, while developing critical thinking, creativity and educational design skills. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of innovative approaches that incorporate interdisciplinarity, new technologies and the connection of education with contemporary social challenges.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to design, implement and evaluate effective learning experiences for different populations of learners. At the same time, they can work in educational organizations, education and training bodies, educational policy organizations and research centers. The research dimension of the program also offers a strong foundation for continuing studies and engaging in educational research at the doctoral level.

Upon completion of their studies, students are expected to:

  • Analyze the basic structural elements of curricula and interpret their interaction in different educational contexts.
  • Interpret the relationship between curriculum, teaching and assessment, utilizing modern theoretical and research approaches.
  • Distinguish and utilize different teaching approaches, recognizing the advantages and limitations of each method.
  • Apply research methods and techniques to design, develop and evaluate curricula based on the principles of research ethics.
  • Develop advanced research skills to study and address complex educational issues.
  • Utilize a variety of research and pedagogical approaches to integrate social, cultural and contemporary educational issues into the learning process.
  • Critically analyze educational policies, curricula and educational interventions.
  • Understand contemporary learning environments and the challenges created by social, cultural and technological developments.
  • Utilize research data and scientific findings to improve educational practice and make informed decisions.

The program is aimed at teachers of all levels, education professionals, executives of educational organizations and scientists active in the field of formal, non-formal and informal education. It is an ideal choice for those who wish to delve deeper into the design and evaluation of curricula, strengthen their teaching and research skills, and acquire modern tools for managing complex educational issues.

In addition, the five special areas of emphasis of the program offer the possibility of specializing in Creative Writing in Education, Educational Technology, Visual Arts and Theater, Mathematics Education, as well as Sociocultural Aspects of Language Teaching.
