The Master’s Degree Programme in School Administration and Leadership aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical and practical background in educational administration and leadership, responding to the contemporary needs of educational organisations. In an environment of continuous social, economic and technological changes, the program prepares education executives capable of effectively managing the challenges of school reality and contributing to the improvement of the quality of education.

Through the study of modern theories and practices of administration, students develop knowledge and skills that allow them to understand the functioning of school organizations, to shape a positive school climate and to enhance the professional development of human resources. At the same time, they delve into the learning and teaching processes, so that they can effectively support the improvement of learning outcomes.

Particular emphasis is placed on the development of leadership skills, on making informed decisions, on managing changes and crises, as well as on the utilization of technology for the administration and organization of educational units. The program also promotes collaboration with teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders, highlighting the decisive role of leadership in creating effective learning communities.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to assume positions of responsibility in school units and educational organizations, while at the same time developing research skills, critical analysis and scientific documentation skills that they can utilize in both their professional and academic careers.

Upon successful completion of the program, students are expected to be able to:

  • Understand in depth the theory and practice of educational administration and educational leadership.
  • Analyze the principles of organizational culture and make informed decisions in complex educational situations and periods of crisis.
  • Understand the processes of learning and teaching and create appropriate working conditions and professional development for educational staff.
  • Select and implement effective administrative and leadership models according to the needs of each educational organization.
  • Analyze and evaluate educational policies, recognizing their impacts on the operation of school units.
  • Utilize the potential of technology for the effective administration, organization and development of educational organizations.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, students and other stakeholders to achieve common educational goals.
  • Support the professional development and continuous training of school staff.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate research projects in the field of educational administration and leadership, utilizing modern methods of scientific investigation.

The program is aimed at current, new and potential school principals, as well as executives of educational organizations. It is designed both for experienced teachers who wish to update their knowledge based on modern international trends, and for executives who aim to take on administrative duties, acquiring the necessary scientific training for the effective leadership of their organization.

Admission Criteria

For admission to the postgraduate study program, candidates are required to hold a Higher Education degree from a higher education institution in Greece (A.E.I., T.E.I.) or abroad (recognized by DOATAP).

Application Submission and Evaluation Process

All the above supporting documents are collected and sent to the email address info@frederick.ac.cy

Subsequently, the Program Committee evaluates the candidate’s file and officially informs them of the outcome of the procedure, sending a relevant decision approving or rejecting the registration application.

In case of approval of the application, the candidate is informed of the next steps of the procedure and receives all the necessary information for the start of their studies.
